One question was asked repeatedly about the 20+ photos I had chosen.
"Why don't you have people in your photos?"
I took another look at my work and realized it, too. Only a few featured people. Even those didn't use them as a focal point.
To me, it made the photos look more like they could have been taken during any time. I like that about those photos. Something about them feels timeless and maybe a little eerie.
While I love timeless, you can't match the incredible use of people as subject matter. The expression, color, emotion, and attitude of people are what I'm missing from a lot of my work.
I decided that on Valentine's Day I would take a trip out to the Walker Art Center and capture some couples. As it would seem, the museum is not the hottest V-Day destination, but I caught a lot of loners passing time.
Either way, I got a few shots worth sharing with you.
